Frank W. McDonald, M.D. specializes in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery, including blade-free LASIK and PRK. He earned his undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Notre Dame. After completing medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Dr. McDonald served his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also acted as chief resident. He was then awarded a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, receiving extensive training in LASIK and the treatment of corneal disease.  He is an active member in multiple medical societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Medical Association.
